Concept design · Hotel website with booking engine
Kinara Lakehouse
Kinara (किनारा, “the shore”) is an imagined eighteen-room boutique hotel on Phewa Lake in Pokhara. The hotel isn’t real, but the website does the one thing every hotel owner wants: it takes bookings directly, without paying a commission to booking sites.
The booking engine has a two-month date-range calendar that marks peak season, adults and children, and live availability for each room type that changes with the dates. Extras like airport pickup, the sunrise jeep and paragliding are priced per person or per stay, and the summary adds the 10% service charge and 13% VAT exactly as a Nepali hotel bill does. Guests switch between rupees and dollars on every page, and the booking ends with a voucher and a calendar file.
The home page draws today’s sun path over the lake from real sunrise and sunset maths for Pokhara and shows the live temperature. A trip planner turns the activities a guest picks into a day-by-day plan built around the sunrise. All hand-coded, no frameworks.
